1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect

Account information

• Google Sign-In: name, email address, and profile picture — provided by Google when you sign in with your Google account
• Email/password sign-up: email address and a securely hashed password

Usage information

• Debate topics and any context you provide when starting a debate
• AI-generated debate content associated with your account
• Basic usage data collected by our hosting provider (page views, device type, browser — see Section 6)

Payment information

• Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. We receive only a transaction reference, the amount paid, and the last four digits of your card for record-keeping purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Process token credit purchases
• Generate AI debates based on the topics you submit
• Send transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets, payment receipts)
• Occasionally send product updates and new feature announcements — you can unsubscribe at any time
• Monitor for abuse and maintain the security of the service

Google user data (name, email, profile picture) obtained via Google Sign-In is used solely to create and manage your account. It is not sold, shared with third parties for marketing purposes, or used for any purpose unrelated to providing the service.

4. Third-Party Data Processors

We share your data with the following third-party services, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting (stores your account and debate data)
• Stripe — payment processing
• Anthropic (Claude API) — AI processing. Your debate topics and user-provided context are sent to Anthropic's API to generate debate content. Anthropic processes this data under its own privacy policy and data usage terms.
• Google — authentication (Google Sign-In)
• Vercel — website hosting and analytics (may collect usage data such as page views, device type, and IP address)

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

5. Overseas Disclosure

The third-party services listed above are based in the United States. By using AskMADE, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US and other countries where these providers operate. We use services that employ encryption in transit and at rest to protect your information.

6. Cookies and Analytics

AskMADE uses cookies for authentication and session management (keeping you signed in). We use Vercel Analytics for basic, privacy-friendly usage analytics (page views, device type). We do not use advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or sell data to advertisers.

7. Public Content

If you choose to share a debate publicly (for example, to a shared gallery), your debate topic, AI-generated responses, and display name will be visible to anyone. You can remove shared content at any time from your account. Content that has already been viewed or cached by others may persist beyond our control.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data and debate history for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal data and debate history within 30 days. Payment records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax and accounting obligations.

9. Your Rights

You can:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data

If you are located outside Australia, you may have additional rights under your local privacy laws. Contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

10. Data Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and rely on the security measures of our third-party providers (Supabase, Stripe, Vercel) to protect your data at rest. Passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plain text. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

11. Children

AskMADE is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will delete their account and associated data promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
